Your scenario
Choose one unit: one item, job or billable hour. Keep that unit and your planning period consistent.
USD amounts: 0 to $1,000,000 each, up to two decimal places. Selling price must be above zero. Nothing is saved between visits.

Balance after entered variable and fixed costs
The balance is not verified net income or take-home pay. Missing costs, tax, financing, owner pay, refunds, changing fees or mixed products can change the result. Results use integer cents; percentages display two decimal places.
Margin is not markup
Contribution = price minus entered variable cost. Contribution margin divides that amount by price; markup divides it by variable cost. For the fictional $50 price and $30 cost, the contribution is $20, margin is 40% and markup is 66.67%. These are different denominators.
Break-even units = fixed costs ÷ contribution per unit, rounded up. This is not a gross-margin or full accounting analysis. Zero-cost markup is undefined. With a zero or negative contribution, additional sales cannot cover positive fixed costs.
